Luxury Pet Bed Care: How to Wash It and Keep It Looking Brand New
How to maintain a designer dog bed so that it retains its premium qualities?
By purchasing a luxury Gauchitto bed, you have given your dog the ultimate comfort. However, to ensure that the materials retain their timeless look and premium properties for many years, proper and regular maintenance is key. Fortunately, the process is very simple.
- Routine and Quick Maintenance
The foundation of pet bed care is the simple removal of dog hair by shaking it out or using a soft brush. As needed, you can vacuum the dog bed at any time and easily wipe away any surface dirt with a damp cloth.

For a quick refresh and to eliminate bacteria or odors, you can gently spray the top side of the bed with a chlorine-free disinfectant designed for animal surfaces and pet hygiene.
- How to Machine Wash the Cover
If there is dirt on the bed that cannot be vacuumed or wiped off, or if you have decided on a complete refresh, you can machine wash the cover without any worries.
- Unzip and remove the cover from the inner cushion.
- Wash it in the washing machine using a hand wash program at 30 °C.
- After washing, let it air dry (the cover dries exceptionally fast due to its premium material properties).
- Caring for the Inner Cushion and Filling
Since the outer cover is crafted from a high-quality, high-weight, and waterproof polyester fabric, the inner cushion filled with shredded foam usually remains completely clean and does not require frequent washing.
However, if you do decide to wash this inner filling as well, it is no problem at all:
- Machine Washing: If the inner cushion fits into your washing machine drum, wash it with a detergent meant for delicate fabrics, using a hand wash program at 30 °C.
- Hand Washing: If the cushion is too large for the machine, you can comfortably wash it by hand in the bathtub.
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTICE: Thorough and complete drying of the inner cushion is absolutely critical. Before inserting it back into the cover, the shredded foam must be 100% dry to prevent any moisture build-up inside the pet bed.
